The Hmong United Association of Rhode Island was founded by leaders of the Rhode Island Hmong community in 1978. The primary mission of HUARI is to study, develop and implement the means and the methods to enhance the integration of the Hmong people into the greater community of the State of Rhode Island.
HUARI is committed to the principle of nurturing and investing in the people. This belief came about from personal experience and the study of different models that have been proven to work in other communities in the USA. After more than three decades of being in the USA, the Hmong people are much better off now than when we first arrived in 1975. However there are still many goals that need to be accomplished before the Hmong people can fully participate in their chosen communities. HUARI is the place where the Hmong people can come together to discuss and address the issues affecting them in their daily lives.
